Ann Meyers Drysdale
Hall of Fame Basketball Pioneer & Broadcaster
Basketball legend Ann Meyers Drysdale joins Cole Kravetz to reflect on a groundbreaking career, the evolution of women's sports, breaking barriers on and off the court, and the lessons that remain long after the final whistle.
Ann Meyers Drysdale is one of the most significant figures in the history of women's basketball.
She was a four-time All-American at UCLA and became the first woman to receive a full athletic scholarship from UCLA. She represented the United States in the 1976 Olympics, winning a silver medal, and became the first woman to sign a free-agent contract with an NBA team when she signed with the Indiana Pacers.
Her career later expanded beyond playing into broadcasting and sports leadership. She is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
A groundbreaking basketball career, competing at the highest level, breaking barriers for women in sports, the evolution of women's athletics, and the transition from athlete into a broader career in sports.
A conversation about how a person's relationship with sports can evolve rather than simply end when the playing career ends.
